CELEBRATIONS!

Great things are happening at WCS!

-Mr. Hutchings is excited to announce that 30 middle school students are participating in WCS Intramural Soccer! What a way to spend some beautiful Fall afternoons!

- Mrs. Sample's class has hatched out 14 monarch butterflies. 10 female-4 male. They “gotta go-gotta go-gotta go to Mexico”!

- “Art on the cart” painted all week with PK, K and 1st and everyone enjoyed it!

CLOTHING FOR WEATHER

As we proceed through the school year with Covid-19 precautions, we will continue to leave windows open and get outside as often as possible. With the weather changing every day, please make sure you prepare for any of the following weather conditions with clothing: Light rain, colder temperatures, and warmer temperatures. Classrooms may be cooler than normal, and we will brave the “light rain” as often as possible. Dressing in layers is a great way to help students adjust and stay prepared for any type of weather!

LONG WEEKEND

Monday, October 12th, is Indigenous People’s Day (Formerly Columbus Day) and there will be no school. This will be a four day week, so to stay on schedule, we will just SKIP Monday and continue with the normal hybrid schedule on Tuesday. Please see the schedule below and call Mrs. Walker or Mrs. Pinkham in the office if you have any questions.

Monday - 10/12

Tuesday - 10/13

Wednesday - 10/14

HEALTHY HIGHLIGHTS

Thank you to all for your diligence in wearing masks, and wearing them appropriately!  A gentle reminder, no gaiters, no valve masks and please wash them as they trap moisture in them so washing is essential.  I have just scheduled a flu clinic for the faculty and staff of Woolwich Central for October 21st. I have spoken with the state regarding getting a clinic here for you and your children.  I do not know if it will be a drive-through clinic or will be under a tent, but I will have one that each parent, child and family member may attend.  It will be no cost and I will try as hard as I can to make it easy for you. I will send home paperwork in advance so that when it is time to give the flu shot, the paperwork will be all done!

I appreciate you working with me during Covid. So many things are different, but one thing remains the same and that is my commitment to you and your children to do the very best I can.  If I can help in any way, please let me know.  - Roberta Sherwood, R.N, BSN, M.Ed

CELL PHONES

Middle Schoolers have received a printed version of the WCS Cellular Use Permission Form (printed on yellow paper.) If your student brings a cellphone to school, we ask that parents and students sign the form and return them to their homeroom teachers.

OUR WEEK IN PICTURES

*NEW* Be sure to check out our newest section in our weekly newsletter, "Our Week In Pictures" compiled by Mrs. Dimbleby!  We want to share a glimpse of the Woolwich Way with families.  Each week you will see students hard at work, examples of student learning, and other fun activities happening here at WCS.
