CELEBRATIONS!

Great things are happening at WCS!

  • Katahdin Lang, Grace Munsey, Jean Paul, Ella Jackson and Amber Gilbert (8th graders) found a way to fill a study halls by volunteering with Mr. Hutchings in his Pre-k PE class. This week they ran the whole class! Mr. Hutchings said “They had a theme, gave great examples, gave awesome feedback and gave the kids a lesson for the ages. The pre-k kids have grown to respect them and really enjoy them being a part of the class. If you see these girls, ask them about it and you will see them light up! All the credit in the world goes to them as they have taken so much initiative!” What a great example of the wonders of a Pre-K to 8 school!!

  • Marc Bradford, Kaden Lopez and John Arsenault (8th graders) under the supervision of Mrs. Weston, have been collecting the recycling in the school. Several times a week they pick up all the recycling from classrooms and offices! Thanks, guys – you're making Woolwich a greener, cleaner place!

THANK YOU!! THANK YOU!! THANK YOU!!

On behalf of the 8th grade class at WCS we would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to our school community including staff members (past and present), family, friends and community who came to the auction on Saturday! We also want to thank all the businesses and individuals who donated FABULOUS items to make the auction a success! We raised $15,300! !

WASHINGTON D.C. here we come!

HEALTHY HIGHLIGHTS

Happy Vacation to all! Short and sweet updates: Strep is making the rounds, so if your child is complaining of sore throat, cough and has a temperature, please keep this in mind. Strep does need to be treated with antibiotics, it will not go away on its own. Also LOTS of information in the news about immunizations. Take time to read some of it, as we all can learn new things - I know I have. What I have to say is, as a registered nurse, I and this school will always operate under Maine State Law, (no matter if it stays as it is or changes). Students without proper immunizations or exemptions may not attend school. I have and always will work with you to help get this information, but will stay within the law.

Get outside on vacation, enjoy some sun, read a book with your student, and get some needed rest. Roberta Sherwood, R.N., BSN, M.Ed
