CELEBRATIONS!
Great things are happening at WCS!
Screen Free Week was a great success, as many students participated in lots of after school activities! Thanks to Mrs. Reny and Mr. Hutchings for organizing!
Poem in your Pocket was so fun, with many delightful poems shared by all! Ask your child what their favorite poem was!
Elinor Riley will be performing as Matilda in Midcoast Youth Theater Production of “Matilda, The Musical”! Performances are May 2,3,4 at 7PM and May 4,5 at 2PM in the Crooker Theater at Brunswick High School. Other WCS cast members are Elanora Pomerleau and Nyla-Sue Keenan.
The Grade 1 & 2 Spring Concert and Art Show was well attended, and lots of fun.
WCS MATH TEAMS
Our 4 Math teams competed on Thursday in the State Math Meet. 5th graders Nolan Becker, Ronan Lafer, Brady Chubbuck, Mallory Doak and Juliana Gustafson; 6th graders Sadie Swenson, Everett Hunter and Madison Capella; 7th graders Sarah Oullette, Allie Coombs and Keith Libby and 8th graders Natalie Emmerson, Teagan Slone, and Margaret Hibl worked hard and had a strong year. Congrats to them!
SPAGHETTI SUPPER
Saturday, May 18, 2019 4:30pm - 6:30pm
The 7th Grade Class at WCS is off and running to raise money for their 8th grade class trip to Washington, D.C. in June, 2020! Please show your support and mark your calendars to attend the Spaghetti Supper they are hosting at WCS on May 18th. Tickets can be purchased at the door or you can purchase in advance from one of our 7th grade class members! Come join us for great food and even better company!
BACK PACK OPEN ENROLLMENT
While that may be an interesting way to word it, the "back pack program" has some extra food we would like to share with those who could use it. Only 6 weeks are left in the time we send home backpacks and I would like to make sure all our food is put to good use. If you could benefit from this, contact Nurse Sherwood. Please be assured that this is completely confidential.
On a related note, we have been part of the Merrymeeting Gleaning Program, where FRESH PRODUCE is shared with those who can use it. However, I have found it is too much for me to manage and I am looking for an adult to help get the produce, clean it, and set it up for those who can use it, possibly throughout the summer as well. If you have any interest in this, please let me know. Nurse Sherwood
KINDERGARTEN PARENT INFORMATION NIGHT 5/8/19
Is your child going to be 5 years old before October 15 of this year? Then we hope you are signed up for Kindergarten Screening. In anticipation of that, please join us for the Parent Information Night, at 6:00 on Wednesday 5/8/19, for kindergarteners entering school in the fall of 2019.

RSU1 5TH GRADE SOCIAL
All 5th Graders in the RSU, along with Georgetown and Phippsburg are invited to the 5th Grade Social on Friday, May 31, from 6:30 – 8:00 PM at BMS. HOW MANY BOOKS HAVE YOU DONATED TO THE BOOK SWAP?
The PTA Book Swap is coming on June 5th & 6th! Bring in your gently used books to the collection bin in the entry way or by the library. Record the number of books you've brought in beside your class. The class who donates the most books will have first dibs at the book swap!! The only books we can't accept are adult books, magazines, board books and books that are not in good condition.
The more you donate the more you bring home!

EVENING OF ETIQUETTE
The Bath Lodge of Elks and the Midcoast Community Alliance are hosting a free “Elktastic Evening of Etiquette” for local middle and high schoolers, grades 6-12, at the Elks’ 9 Lambard Street location, on Saturday May 11th at 5:00 p.m.
Knowing which fork to use for salad and which to use for chicken is nearly a forgotten bit of knowledge in these more informal times. Attendees will learn basic “rules of etiquette,” and be served a five-course meal, with soup, appetizer, salad, a main course and dessert.
Students are asked to RSVP by going to http://e3.rsvpify.com and choosing their entrée preference (chicken, beef, or vegetarian). They will be asked to enter their mailing address so that an official invitation and a primer on etiquette rules can be sent to them before the event.
Dress is “business casual,” and if clothing is needed, students can visit the Clothing Closet at the Bath Skatepark. Visits to the Clothing Closet and any other resource or support received at the teen center is always confidential. The Skatepark is open Monday 2:00-5:00pm Tuesday – Friday from 2:00-7:00 pm, Saturdays 11:00 a.m. to 9:00 pm.
