EXTRA POCKET CHANGE?

Please send in your extra pocket change or drop it off in the lobby to help the WCS kindergarten students bring clean water to students in Kenya.

Next fall the Go2Science mission will be traveling to Kenya to be learning about WATER! As part of the mission, they are going to drill a well so young school children at the HIP Academy, located in an impoverished rural part of western Kenya, can have safe, reliable drinking water. The children of this area can attend school at HIP Academy but it can be a struggle to obtain basic necessities let alone an education. We know children can’t learn if their basic physical needs are unmet. The children of HIP Academy do not have a reliable, safe drinking water source. Fetching water from a distant river and a shallow well, as they do now, has been the cause of illness and time away from school. They need to raise $14,200 to cover the cost of permits, drilling the well, installing the pump, and testing the water to ensure it is safe to drink. This will be a great learning experience for students here in Woolwich to learn how to use science and technology for a greater good and become the sort of compassionate, evidence-based decision makers we need in the 21st Century. BOOK SWAP JUNE 5 & 6

Tonight is the perfect time to check your bookshelves for books to donate to the Book Swap. The more you donate, the more books you'll get to choose! Bring them in on Monday, and mark the number of books next to your teacher's name. The class with the most books gets to visit the swap first!
